DESCRIPTION:The Annual St. Louis Browns Reunion Luncheon\nOn September 24th, 2024\nt’s a celebration, of not just one but two anniversaries and we want you to be a part of both.  We will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the 1944 World Series, which was not only the monumental moment of the St. Louis Browns franchise, it was also the pinnacle moment in St. Louis baseball history when both of the city’s Major League Baseball teams played each other in the Fall Classic.  We are also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the St. Louis Browns Historical Society & Fan Club’s founding.  It’s been 71 seasons since the Brownies last played and for the last 40 seasons the Fan Club has actively kept their legacy alive to celebrate with those fans who watched them play as well as for new generations of baseball fans to remember and cherish the great moments of this franchise.\nWhat makes this so special? There are no active and participating Fan Clubs of any of the other relocated teams from baseball’s golden years in Boston, Brooklyn, New York, and Philadelphia. Browns Fan Club members meet and celebrate many times throughout each year, and we are not about to stop!  The Brownie legacy lives on.\nWe will be celebrating these magic moments once more at our Annual Reunion Luncheon on Tuesday September 24th at the iconic Missouri Athletic Club. The luncheon is open to the public.  Our policy continues to insure we give a discount to attendees who are paid Fan Club members.  We work very hard to make this event accessible and affordable to all.  The price of the tickets will be $45 for paid Fan Club members and $55 for their guests or other non-members attending.  If you are not currently a paid member, you can join using the ticket order form. Parking will be provided in the MAC’s secure garage. For those who cannot make the trip to St. Louis we will offer a Zoom viewing of the event for $10. Feel free to invite friends and other family members.  It should be a great baseball experience that baseball fans will enjoy.\nMike Veeck, the son of former Browns owner Bill Veeck, the man many called “the P.T. Barnum of baseball,” will be our keynote speaker.  Mike is one of baseball’s best and most entertaining speakers. Check out his recent Netflix film, The Saint of Second Chances. “Starting in the ’70s, Bill Veeck and his son Mike unshackled America’s favorite pastime from its dusty traditions and pushed a new vision for what a day at the ballpark looked like, turning it into something that was actually fun — with fireworks, wacky on-field events, and one of baseball’s most disastrous promotional stunts.” The stories will range from Eddie Gaedel to Grandstand Manager Night to Disco Demolition night. We are also assembling a very nice collection of other guests from the world of baseball to further your enjoyment that afternoon.
