SUMMARY:Browns Luncheon 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Annual St. Louis Browns Reunion Luncheon\nOn August 25th, 2025\nYou won’t want to miss this year’s 41st Annual St. Louis Browns Reunion Luncheon on Monday August\n25th . It’s going to be a celebration of many great memories. In 2025, we are focused on celebrating the 80th\nanniversary of Pete Gray. It’s time to put away the myths and plunder of his short time in the big leagues.\nWe will explore the justification for the Browns calling him up and the consequential issues that then evolved.\nHis story has often been perceived as a “circus event.” So, there is much to clarify in his story and the\nimpact. While his personality may have had some negativity, his crossing the white chalked line of a Major\nLeague Baseball field offered an inspirational hopefulness to many Americans during and following the years\nof World War II.\nIn continuing our long history of outstanding speakers with ties to many of the great moments of baseball,\nour keynote speaker will be a man I have always wanted to host at our luncheon. When talking baseball,\nwho is the biggest name in the history of the game? There is only one person that fits those shoes,\nthe Bambino, Babe Ruth. All baseball fans love hearing the stories of the man they called “the Sultan of\nSwat.” And when studying the Bambino and his history there are a lot of ties to St. Louis’ two teams the\nBrowns and Cardinals. So, we are going to relive those memories and correct a few misconceptions.\nPerhaps we will add to your awareness of how great Ruth really was as we honor the greatest player in\nbaseball history through the amazing stories and antidotes from his closest living relative, Babe’s grandson\nTom Stevens.\nTom is an amazing man. I have spent many hours with him talking about baseball history and the Babe.\nCome and enjoy these stories and ask questions. Learn how Ruth could never solve and hit the Browns’ Hub\nPruett or the many battles he and his Yankees had with the Browns. The Browns George Sisler and Babe\nRuth were two of baseball’s best when they battled across the 1920s. Ruth’s New Yorkers beat out the\nBrowns for the American League title by a single game in 1922. And don’t forget the Browns Kenny Williams\nwas the slugger who broke Ruth’s string of home run titles. And then there were the battles between the\nCardinals and Ruth’s Yankees in the 1926 and ’28 World Series where the Bambino dominated while also\npromising a hospitalized boy, he would hit a homer for him. It’s all on the table at our luncheon so come,\nlearn, and celebrate.\nWe will be celebrating these magic moments once again at the iconic Missouri Athletic Club. The luncheon is\nopen to the public.  Our policy continues to insure we give a discount to attendees who are paid Fan Club\nmembers.  We work very hard to make this event accessible and affordable to all.  The price of the tickets\nwill be $50 for paid Fan Club members and $60 for their guests or other non-members attending.  If you are\nnot currently a paid member, you can join using the ticket order form. Parking will be provided in the MAC’s\nsecure garage. For those who cannot make the trip to St. Louis we will offer a Zoom viewing of the event for\n$10. Feel free to invite friends and other family members.  It should be a great baseball experience that\nbaseball fans will enjoy.\nYou can register and pay for your tickets either online at: https://membership.thestlbrowns.com/events-new/browns-luncheon-2025/ or you can mail a check or credit card payment using the attached reservation sheet\nto the Fan Club’s post office box as shown on the attachment Questions may be sent to the Browns Fan\nClub email at: stlbrowns@swbell.net. Your tickets will be available for you at the registration table on the day\nof the event. You will also receive a confirmation email notifying you your ticket purchase has been made.\nWhat makes this so special? There are no active and participating Fan Clubs from any of the other\nrelocated teams from baseball’s golden years in Boston, Brooklyn, New York, and Philadelphia. Our\nmembers meet and celebrate many times throughout each year, and we are not about to stop! The Brownie\nlegacy lives on.\n \nEd Wheatley\nPresident – St. Louis Browns Historical Society & Fan Club\nSt. Louis Browns Annual Reunion Luncheon\nAugust 25th, 2025\nMissouri Athletic Club\n405 Washington Ave. St. Louis, MO 63102\nDoors Open 11:00 – Program Begins 11:30\nReservations & Payment Form for Attendees:\nName:  ___________________________________________ Phone:  ___________________\nEmail:  ___________________________________________\nNumber of 2025 paid Browns Fan Club Members Attending = ______ times $50 = $________\nNumber of non-Fan Club Members Attending ………………….  = ______ times $60 = $________\nBrowns memberships purchased (see $ levels below) …………………….…….…………. = $________\nZoom Viewership of the Luncheon to watch the program is $10 ……………………..  = $________\n          Total Payment = $ ________\nA vegetarian alternate meal is available.  Number of Vegetarian meals =______\nPaying by (indicate below):\n____ Check – Check # ______\n____Credit Card\nName on card:  ________________________________________\nCard Number:  ________________________________________\nExpiration Date:  ____________    CVS #:  ___________________\nBilling Zip Code:  ____________\nMail form to: St. Louis Browns Historical Society & Fan Club\nP.O Box 6007\nChesterfield, MO 63006\nMembership Levels:\n$500.00 Hall of Fame Membership Includes:\n\nMembership ID card\nBi-Annual copies of Pop Flies Magazine  \nA bound Volume IV of Pop Flies through the Years\n#4 in the Browns vintage pennant collection\nInvitation to all Fan Club events:  Annual Luncheon, Quarterly Roundtables, etc. (may be no cost or on a fee basis, such as the luncheon)\nOne free admission to the Annual Reunion Luncheon\n\n$250.00 MVP Membership Includes:\n\nMembership ID card\nBi-Annual copies of Pop Flies Magazine \nA bound Volume V of Pop Flies through the Years\n#4 in the Browns vintage pennant collection\nInvitation to all Fan Club events:  Annual Luncheon, Quarterly Roundtables, etc. (may be no cost or on a fee basis, such as the luncheon)\n\n$100.00 Bleed Brown Membership Includes:\n\n\n\nMembership ID card\nBi-Annual copies of Pop Flies Magazine \nA bound Volume V of Pop Flies through the Years\n\n\n\n\nInvitation to all Fan Club events:  Annual Luncheon, Quarterly Roundtables, etc. (may be no cost or on a fee basis, such as the luncheon)\n\n$60.00 Gold Level Membership Includes:\n\n\n\nMembership ID card\nBi-Annual copies of Pop Flies Magazine \n#4 in the Browns vintage pennant collection\n\n\n\n\nInvitation to all Fan Club events:  Annual Luncheon, Quarterly Roundtables, etc. (may be no cost or on a fee basis, such as the luncheon)\n\nSilver Level Membership Includes:\n\nMembership ID card\nBi-Annual copies of Pop Flies Magazine \nInvitation to all Fan Club events:  Annual Luncheon, Quarterly Roundtables, etc. (may be no cost or on a fee basis, such as the luncheon)\n\n\n
