Browns Luncheon 2025
The Annual St. Louis Browns Reunion Luncheon
On August 25th, 2025
You won’t want to miss this year’s 41st Annual St. Louis Browns Reunion Luncheon on Monday August
25th . It’s going to be a celebration of many great memories. In 2025, we are focused on celebrating the 80th
anniversary of Pete Gray. It’s time to put away the myths and plunder of his short time in the big leagues.
We will explore the justification for the Browns calling him up and the consequential issues that then evolved.
His story has often been perceived as a “circus event.” So, there is much to clarify in his story and the
impact. While his personality may have had some negativity, his crossing the white chalked line of a Major
League Baseball field offered an inspirational hopefulness to many Americans during and following the years
of World War II.
In continuing our long history of outstanding speakers with ties to many of the great moments of baseball,
our keynote speaker will be a man I have always wanted to host at our luncheon. When talking baseball,
who is the biggest name in the history of the game? There is only one person that fits those shoes,
the Bambino, Babe Ruth. All baseball fans love hearing the stories of the man they called “the Sultan of
Swat.” And when studying the Bambino and his history there are a lot of ties to St. Louis’ two teams the
Browns and Cardinals. So, we are going to relive those memories and correct a few misconceptions.
Perhaps we will add to your awareness of how great Ruth really was as we honor the greatest player in
baseball history through the amazing stories and antidotes from his closest living relative, Babe’s grandson
Tom Stevens.
Tom is an amazing man. I have spent many hours with him talking about baseball history and the Babe.
Come and enjoy these stories and ask questions. Learn how Ruth could never solve and hit the Browns’ Hub
Pruett or the many battles he and his Yankees had with the Browns. The Browns George Sisler and Babe
Ruth were two of baseball’s best when they battled across the 1920s. Ruth’s New Yorkers beat out the
Browns for the American League title by a single game in 1922. And don’t forget the Browns Kenny Williams
was the slugger who broke Ruth’s string of home run titles. And then there were the battles between the
Cardinals and Ruth’s Yankees in the 1926 and ’28 World Series where the Bambino dominated while also
promising a hospitalized boy, he would hit a homer for him. It’s all on the table at our luncheon so come,
learn, and celebrate.
We will be celebrating these magic moments once again at the iconic Missouri Athletic Club. The luncheon is
open to the public. Our policy continues to insure we give a discount to attendees who are paid Fan Club
members. We work very hard to make this event accessible and affordable to all. The price of the tickets
will be $50 for paid Fan Club members and $60 for their guests or other non-members attending. If you are
not currently a paid member, you can join using the ticket order form. Parking will be provided in the MAC’s
secure garage. For those who cannot make the trip to St. Louis we will offer a Zoom viewing of the event for
$10. Feel free to invite friends and other family members. It should be a great baseball experience that
baseball fans will enjoy.
You can register and pay for your tickets either online at: https://membership.thestlbrowns.com/events-new/browns-luncheon-2025/ or you can mail a check or credit card payment using the attached reservation sheet
to the Fan Club’s post office box as shown on the attachment Questions may be sent to the Browns Fan
Club email at: stlbrowns@swbell.net. Your tickets will be available for you at the registration table on the day
of the event. You will also receive a confirmation email notifying you your ticket purchase has been made.
What makes this so special? There are no active and participating Fan Clubs from any of the other
relocated teams from baseball’s golden years in Boston, Brooklyn, New York, and Philadelphia. Our
members meet and celebrate many times throughout each year, and we are not about to stop! The Brownie
legacy lives on.
